Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born on 19th August 1965) is an American actress, producer and director. She is most famous for her part as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson in the TNT crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick earned the Golden Globe Award in 2007 for her performance as Johnson and also an Emmy Award 2010 for her portrayal. Following the conclusion of the seventh season, the show was canceled on August 13, 2012. Sedgwick's recurring role of Madeline Wuntch in the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine is also noteworthy. Sedgwick received a Golden Globe Award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film appearances include Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July (1989), Cameron Crowe's Solos (1992), Heart and Souls (93), Phenomenon (2000), What's Cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003). The actress also appeared in The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was born in New York City to Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald), who works as a speech/family therapist and Henry Dwight Sedgwick, a venture investor. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was Episcopalian, of English heritage. Sedgwick has identified herself as Jewish and has stated that she participates in Passover seders.
